Qualification Objectives and International Orientation

The master program is application-oriented, aimed at university lecturers and scientific employees who want to further develop their research and teaching practices to a high level.
The program empowers its participants take on managerial functions. Through the close integration of teaching content with current practice in the field of application, theory and practice become more closely related to each other.
The aim of training is both to teach existing knowledge and to impart the ability to apply this to known problems and new problems. These equips participants to independently acquire new skills and knowledge after graduation

Teaching focus

  • Course-specific expertise in conjunction with theoretical basic knowledge, which enables further acquisition and classification of scientific knowledge in the professional practice.
  • Methodological, analytical and synthetic capabilities of concept-specific application of knowledge.
  • Job related key qualifications, especially the ability to co-operate with partners foreign to the subject and confrontation of non-scientific challenges.

The teaching content, various meetings and events of the program serve the purpose of conveying in-depth expertise of different doctrines involving job related competencies. This includes the following key qualifications, which forms the common thread that runs through module contents and methods:

  • Analytical-empirical competence: empirical work and findings are treated in the module and should be incorporated into the master thesis.
  • Cross discipline communication skills; cross cutting issues of educational process in all modules, especially in module 4 and 5.
  • Competence to reflect; Findings, concept, management theories and experience are critically processed in the module. They are then discussed in terms of their use, limits and practical applicability. Own ideas, theses and behaviors are subject of collaboration and reflection during exercise and discourse.
  • Communication competence; communication is a special subject in this module. In addition, communication competence is to be encouraged through presentations, discourse, moderation and forms of collegial supervision.
  • Team work Capacity; co-operation within a team and leadership of a team is a special subject within a module. The capacity of team work is conveyed by the special organizational structure of the program.  Also in attendance period (High level of group work), e-learning and work on the learning platform (Forum for the exchange of views and experiences)
  • Personal competence; the central theme of the course is the promotion of self-directed learning. The blended learning promotes and enables the autonomy of students in relation to their studies.

In line with the study objectives, the task of teaching is essentially the responsibility of teachers with scientific qualification. They also have relevant experience in the practical application of scientific knowledge and methods.
The university facilities and its connection to its environment ensure orientation towards practice; appropriate technical and organizational facilities.  Tools used to convey the application oriented content include; evaluation software, infrastructure, internet applications, learning platforms and synchronous training in e-learning. The students also have access to the university library, additionally some important text and recommended readings can be found on the learning platform.
