Modules

The Curriculum is independent of commercial interests. However, it is intended to provide a platform to present the current implant systems of the most important implant manufacturers. The Curriculum is scheduled for approximately one year and comprises 9 two-day weekend modules with a total of roughly 150 hours of lectures and hands-on work. The objective is to present the participants an overview of the entire field of endosseous dental implant treatment. Groups of 20 students are offered a mix of theoretical and practical knowledge, live surgery or video demonstrations and hands-on training during each of the weekend modules held on Fridays and Saturdays. The program is completed by a two days visiting program in the dental offices or clinics of the faculty members and a supervised implant operation performed by the participant.

Students who attended all weekend modules and fulfilled the visiting program and the supervised operation are qualified for the final examination according to the regulations of the DGI. In final examination they have to present 5 well documented cases operated and rehabilitated prosthodontically (including preoperative, postoperative final X-rays and fotos, baseline and final casts, and patient records, preferably in form of a Power point presentation). The cases are presented and discussed at the oral examination. Students who successfully passed the examination are awarded the certificate "Specialist in Dental Implantology".
